CURRENT PROJECTS
This is just a little tantalizing information. I don't usually talk much about my projects (if I talk, I don't write) but in case you're curious, here's a little information to make you want more--so you'll bug me to write the books, so you can read them! Sorry, one of the things I don't talk about is titles until a book is actually in publication.
- SM - a picture book, another Romanian folktale, to keep The Impudent Rooster company.
STATUS: ready for publication (where's that interested publisher?)
- WW - a picture book for older readers, based on a true story.
STATUS: almost ready, though it needs yet another big revision! Currently this is in on its second title and 21+ revision.
- TFFG - a historical novel for children, set in relatively recent times.
STATUS: I had the idea for this book a million years ago; I recently discussed it with my
writing partner, which prompted an outline and several starting chapters
- RG - a historical novel for children, set in Romania in the past.
STATUS: one (very bad) first draft written, then the idea changed, so
I'm reading, doing research, preparing for a second draft. And the research ideally should include a trip to Romania!
- MB2 - a novel for children or young adults.
STATUS: currently into thousands and thousands and thousands of words of its first draft (who knows how many of these words will stay?)
- MB1 - another novel for children or young adults.
STATUS: this has far fewer thousands of words written; I had the idea for this book first, but got more interested on working on MB2--hence MB1 will get written after
- MB5 - and yet another novel for children or young adults.
STATUS: currently just in the idea-gathering stage
[Note: the MBs are not a series.]
- DB - a biography/memoir for adults about my father and how we left Romania.
STATUS (this is especially for all my relatives who keep asking, "When
will it be ready?" "Did you finish yet?") I am
still conducting research, transcribing interviews...and yes, I did begin writing!
